Carbondale police shoot, kill man (1-30-07), Southern Illinoisan article, 70 comments
The suspect shot and killed by a Carbondale police. The suspect is Lawrance Wirth, 22 of Carbondale. He was restraining and stabbing another man when three police officers arrived. The police chief said police are well trained in the use of firearms and appropriate use of deadly force. Most people think the police can not killed the man, but some people think the police took the correct action.
My opinion:
1. It is difficult to make a definition of “appropriate”.
2. The police can shoot the suspect, but can not kill him.
3. During violent confrontation, everything is not easy to control. The police maybe not want to kill the suspect.
4. People who commit crimes, they should risk losing their lives.

Nice job, Hsin-Yen. Next time, please write a paragraph giving your opinion instead of a list.
Thanks.
